Court refuses to release Fonseka PDF Print E-mail

 The Supreme Court today refused to release General Sarath Fonseka, following a fundamental rights petition filed by him through his wife Anoma Fonseka, but allowed access to his immediate family members and lawyers. The Supreme Court decided today that the decision regarding the release of Gen. Sarath Fosneka, who is being detained arbitrarily, would be given on the 26th of April. The Supreme Court gave this decision when the plea for interim relief of the fundamental rights petition file by the Genral was considered.

Gen. Fonseka was allowed visits by his lawyers, medical teams, friends and family members and telephone facilities.
According to SC decision Gen. Fonseka's release would be considered only on the 26th of April.
